PC Freezes 5-10 Minutes Into Gameplay

This has been an ongoing issue for the past 3 or 4 months. My PC began to freeze occasionally either during gameplay or browsing the internet. I'd usually have to wait a minute or two and it would unfreeze. This problem is very unpredictable and changes constantly. It used to be that my PC would freeze only if I wasn't playing a game but now it is the opposite. My PC freezes 5-10 minutes into any game. This is getting pretty frustrating. Trying to do a full scan on Windows Defender but it's taking wayyyy too long. Any help? Also, I've checked temperatures and they appear to be fine - 30c idle, 45c during Team Fortress 2 gameplay, which freezes...

Some things to try:
1) Run the Troubleshooter for hardware and devices.
2) Run memory diagnostics.
3) Open an administrator command prompt and issue this command: SFC /scannow .

Ran the troubleshooter. This hasn't changed anything.
Ran memory diagnostics. No problems found.
Will try the third step now and get back to you!

Got to 31% verification complete and...
"Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
