I just finished my first overclock as someone who has grown to love PC's and every aspect of them. I overclocked my 5820k after teaching myself about voltages, clock speeds ect.. I'll keep this short so here are my specs and results. Keep in mind i wanted to keep this OC experience modest as it's my first go at it!

MSI x99a SLI Plus Motherboard
16 Gb Adata RAM @ 2133 MHz
i7- 5820k OC to 4.0 GHz @ 1.2v
Corsair H100i V2 AIO
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Superclocked (EVGA)
1Tb WD HDD
500Gb Samsung Evo SSD
Kingston 250 Gb SSD
EVGA 600w PSU

Idle temp: 34C
Real Temp Sensor Test (Prime95): max temp: 82C
ROG RealBench: max temp: 65C
Cinebench score: 1184

Any input is welcome, as are any questions for what i may have missed. Thanks!

Well you should benchmark stock clock and benchmark after the overclock and ask your self is it worth the difference

If its running stable which it should then you are in the clear perfect

I did it mostly to prevent spiking and such in processor heavy games. I am stable i believe after ~4 hours of stress testing. Thanks!

I did some tweaking and all, i'm happy with the result since it's my first OC and all. Mainly just tried to do it to instill some confidence to myself since i was self taught (which im sure most people are). Thanks though, i'll keep it in mind if i ever decide to push any further!
