DVI vs HDMI cable connection

Besides picture and audio capabilities. I know dvi has a locking mechanism while HDMI doesn't. But does it really make a difference? Does dvi necessarily provides a better connection?

They're both digital signals, so DVI and HDMI are basically the same if you're not carrying audio

My question was about the physical connection only. Well. Both seem to do a good job but DVI is difinitely better IMO because of its locking mechanism.. as there is no risk of the connection being loose. Functionalitiy wise, they're indeed the same
