I have a VGA splitter that connects two separate VGA cables to two individual monitors. Does splitting the display using this method reduce the quality of the displays?
It shouldn't but the length of the VGA cable it self can. Luckly VGA can do like 100 feet and still have a decent resolution.
Just remember both monitors will have the same exact image. I knew people who bought this and though they could get two separate displays with a VGA Splitter

Please note it will reduce the quality as well.
My apologies but I seemed to have made a mistake with thinking that i had a splitter when I in fact actually have a DVI to VGA adapter with two separate VGA cables hooked up to individual displays.

I've seen and used dozens of VGA Splitters. If he is only going 10 feet and no more then I have never see a drop in quality . You start going 20+ feet then yes you lose quality and resolution.
