Hello, just bought a new build, before that had like 4 laptops in long years period. Now need a monitor to use. This pc mostly goes for gaming. Im green on those Hz or something. Btw im low on budget... So thinking about 1080p monitor for this year. Really want an ultrawide. As i said im low on monitors. Can you help me in what specs i should look. With this pc i will play counterstrike, arma3, some survival games and mmorpg. I want to stay in <300euros.

My build - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gNJbcc

Current monitor i thought is nice for me https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CrvZxr/lg-29um68-p-290-60hz-monitor-29um68-p

Also what cable i should use? HDMI or DVI ?

Thank you for you help. Karolis :)

Yes, a 1070 can handle 144hz at 1080p. However, fps drops will have a noticable difference on demanding games like Witcher 3, etc, but the games you mentioned can run well over 144 fps.

A gtx 1070 at 1080p is overkill, by a wide margin. Unless you are willing to pay for a 1090p 144hz monitor, don't get a 1080p 60hz monitor. A good 144hz 1080 monitor would be this: https://www.amazon.de/Asus-VG248QE-Monitor-DisplayPort-Reaktionszeit/dp/B00B19T7QC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484966390&sr=8-1&keywords=1080p+144hz

And you would use hdmi or display port for the 144hz refresh rate.

If you want g-sync, which costs more (alot), heres a 1080p 144hz g-sync monitor:
https://www.amazon.de/Acer-XB241Hbmipr-H%C3%B6henverstellbar-Pivot-Funktion-Reaktionszeit/dp/B01AJTVBQI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484966487&sr=8-1&keywords=1080p+144hz+g+sync

Most ultrawides cost too much for a resolution higher than 1080p, which looks pretty bad on an ultrawide since the pixel density is so small.

So everything will be fine with 1080p 144hz monitor? G-Sync would be nice, but the prices is just verry high atm and im on budget :( So i will have to skip the gsync for now.

Is a 1080p 144Hz for 1070 normal gameplay?
