So, I got a 760 but it needs a 6 and 8 pin connection, both together, but my GPU has only an 6+2 one. I was thinking of buying an SATA to PCIE 6 pin adapter, I don't know if the amps are enough or what, but you guys know better.

PSU: Aerocool KCAS 600W 80 PLUS Bronze
Output:20A min 3.3 V 45A 12V
Current: 5 A
Volts: +12V, +3.3V, +5V, +5Vsb, -12V

You can get that or a 2xMOLEX-> 6-pin PCIe

The current comes from the same 12V source in the power supply so using adapters generally works fine if you have sufficient power, which you do.

*Also, the 8-pin is more than capable of supplying all the power the card needs. It's possible the card is designed to EXPECT all power inputs to be there, but you certainly do not need the extra power.

It uses at most about 180W.

You often get 80W via the 24-pin through the motherboard. The 8-pin can handle about 150W. That's 230W... huh? That's more power than the card even needs.

WTF do they have a requirement for a 6-pin and an 8-pin? No idea. An 8-pin or 2x6-pin would be more than enough.

So, as long as the adapter is good, it should work?

Impossible.

Check the 6+2 part. Says 1, also checked, only if I'm blind. My version I guess it's different. Because where I bought it's advertised as one, in my country and in Spain also.
