Help on choosing two 1440p monitors for gaming. (higher than 60hz, 27", doesn't destroy the bank)

Hello All,

I am looking to upgrade from a single 24" 1080p screen to dual 27" 1440p monitors. I am currently running a GTX 980 in my rig. I may opt for one 1440p monitor and one 1080p of the same size and brand as the off monitor will be used for internet browsing, videos, chat programs, etc.

Everything I have seen so far is up there in price, rivaling even 4k monitors. Does anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks!

Why do you say that? Shouldn't a 980 be able to drive a 1440p screen without real issue? From what my research tells me, my rig is more than capable. Once the card wears out or isn't performing as well as it is I will be replacing it with something of similar tier in modern cards.

Most benchmarking I have seen show that the 980 can run a 2k screen mostly on ultra/high. Is this not the case?

I'd love to get another year or two out of it before upgrading again!
