Hey there
I am looking for reliable KVM switch for 2 to 4 computers and at least 2 monitors per computer. I currently have Linkskey Dual monitor DVI KVM switch- it is 2nd I own and both of them continuously drop the mouse.
So I decided to go with Display Port KVM switch- because I bought Gigabyte 1060 graphics card that has 3 DP, 1 HDMI and 1 DVI which looks like it does not support dual link and I need dual link for my higher resolution monitors.
I found this web site that sales many brands of KVMs. the sales representative agreed to find right KVM for me. She sends me e-mail with |quote" and tells me that I should stick with DVI KVM because Display Ports known to fall asleep while in use. I appreciate the information but I am wondering- how bad is it? How often the DP falls asleep while in use? I found few threads on the internet about it, no solution. If DP is so unstable- why would NVidia put 3 DP ports on its graphic cards?
This KVM has 2 DP per ports but the monitors are connected by HDMI port. I am wondering if this is to address this issue. But then again- if it falls asleep at the computer end- changing it to HDMI would not help.

This one has 2x DP and DP for monitor connection.

What you think? Thank you.
