Screen flicker when coming out of sleep mode.

My monitor is an LG 29UM68-P, and when I wake my PC from sleep mode the screen flickers 6-7 times before stabilizing (Normally) but the other day it did it more and then it reverted to 720p resolution. So I unplugged the cord and plugged it back in (Using Display port) and all was fine. It just seems to occur when exiting sleep mode. It has never done anything odd while it has been on, or when I am just turning the monitor on. Was wondering what the issue was here? Cord, monitor, PC?

Alright, I believe I've narrowed it down to the cord. Reading Amazon reviews on my DP cord I see similar issues. Could anyone recommend a top quality DP cord?

Use a gold plated display port cable. There is none but make sure it is gold plated and read the reviews before buying to make sure the flicker is not there. Gold should help out
