Cant open downloads

i attempted to update MSI afterburner after getting an update, however once the download is complete and saved to my Downloads, if i click open, it opens a small internet explorer box with the download in, if i click open on this, it flashes and nothing happens, if i click save and open, it copies the document but nothing, i have attempted to change what app opens the file, but my only options are explorer, notepad and text document i believe

right click, open containing folder. You are just looking at the download list not the downloads folder itself.
