No offset or adaptive setting in CPU core voltage

I have the latest bios for the asus H97 ME, I'm trying to OC the G3258 but I can't have it go to adaptive because it seems to not exist.

Here in linus tech tips video https://youtu.be/QBfXruwe8w4
I set the URL to the exact time of him introducing the setting and what it looks like.
My UEFI looks identical and yet I don't have those two options. I only have Manual and Auto.

At the moment I have it set so 3.6 Ghz I think at 1.300v but I want it to go down so I won't have it at that voltage all the time.

I have tried setting it to auto to see what happens but for some reason it simply went to 1.7v

So what do I do? I honestly don't want it to stay overclocked if it's going to draw so much power all the time. According to aida64, it is in fact always at 1.300v.

I believe it is because you have an H97 board instead of a Z97 board.

Looks like it. Mobo manufactures do this a lot. Higher priced boards often have many additional BIOS options, including such things as different levels of LLC, etc.

Ah, bummer. Kind of makes me not wish I sold my z97 board for this H97ME.
I had athe basic Asrock Z97 and I sold after I got it shipped back as repaired and got this H97 ME with a 212 EVO for 70 or 80 bucks.
Now I'm questioning my decision that I was content with at the time lol

Would you know if there's any work around for this?

You can leave the manual voltage. Even though the voltage will remain as set when the CPU is at idle it shouldn't pull any (significant) current so power usage should go down.
