How to disable internet connection in windows 7 ?

the only way i found is disabling the network adapters

is there a better way ?

i will have to do this on regular basis
iam afraid if it will damage my internal hardware (lan card)

Disabling the network adapters is the best way.

But there shouldn't be a reason you need to do it on a regular basis.

It won't damage the hardware, it just turns it off, only the damage may be to the software if it gets funky and you'd have to reinstall windows or something to restore it.

Remove network adapters, remove ethernet cable, disable in motherboard BIOS if you have a wireless motherboard.
Only real way to be honest.
Why do you need to do it on a regular basis if I might ask?

There should be no reason to do this on a regular basis... But like others said, the best would be to disable it in control panel > network and internet > network connections

there is this game 'Dead island' which constantly searches for other servers even if i play single player .. and this causes lag / shutters
in game settings and blocking the game from firewall didnt work .. only solution i found is disconnecting internet
