I need help with my hardrive.

I took out the hard drive of my Seagate go flex desk and put it my PC.
When i go to disk management it's saying that it's unknown and not initialized. And when I try to initialized it it say's : "the system cannot find path specified hard drive".

(basically try GPT when initializing and after it fails, try MBR again)

I don't know why but it doesn't let me try again .. After i try GPT the Initialize Disk bar it's grey..

Ok, try this.
Open an admin command prompt.
Type DISKPART and hit enter
Type list disk hit enter
In the list look for the hard drive, probably identify it by size. should be disk 1 or disk 2 maybe.
Type select disk X where X is the disk number then hit enter
Type clean hit enter
You can close the window after this.

Now go back to Disk Management and it should popup saying disk X needs to be initialized. Try MBR again.

I have heard of external drives somehow only allowing the enclosure that came with it to interact with it. What happens if you put it back in the enclosure and connect via USB? Can you initialize and format then?

Nah.. The motive that I took it out it was because the "hub" is broken.. I think I will get a new one... But thanks for the Info
