I recently bought an open air GTX 1070 to go in my Define Nano S mini itx case, however I've been reading that I might want to use a blower style due to the constricted space and air flow in the smaller cases. Will there be any problem using the open air card or should I replace it with a blower style?

AMD or Intel CPU?

Stock or Aftermarket CPU cooler?

Your case has better airlflow then most of the ITX styles so assuming your CPU has good cooling then you should be ok. I would keep a close eye on temps running a hard benchmark like prime95.

AMD cpus run hotter so that could cause an issue.

To sum it up, if temps are good then wouldnt worry. Otherwise I would either exchange for blower GPU (better option) or get a beefier aftermarket CPU cooler and high cfm case cooling fans.

Aftermarket cooler - Hyper 212X
Intel CPU 7600k
Yeah I'll likely just run some tests with the open air card and replace if its a little too toasty.
