Virus scan from another Windows installation.

When scanning a windows installation for malware (Windows 10) from another windows installation by pulling the hard drive, do I need to set file permissions in order for the scan to be completely thorough?

That is, I have 2 SSDs on my machine, each with a separate Windows installation. One of these has caught a bug or two. When scanning from the other, is there any need to set file permissions in order for the scan to catch everything?

why not use a linux live cd and run a scan using it? it doesn't care about permissions - https://www.eightforums.com/general-support/33874-viewing-hard-drive-another-computer-permissions.html

its likely you can read the files but not change anything which makes running malware kind of pointless since it will just get errors.
