I want to check if a disk with an operating system on it is or isnt damaged

Im planning on reinstalling my os to an ssd from hdd and i have a disk copy of windows 10 64bit, the disk wasnt kept in a case and has had some stuff on it like disk drives, dvd cases etc. I want to check if i can still install windows from it but i havent got a pc lacking an os and i dont want to risk clicking on it with a pc that has an os. PLEASE HELP

Not quite clear on what you are asking so..Are you saying you have a DVD copy of windows 10 that may be damaged and you want to verify that because you might want to install windows 10 from it. Of something else?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, i want to know if there is a safe way of checking if the disk still works without installing the os

If you install it in a operating PC you can run all sorts of diagnostics on the drive. If it has an OS on it you may see a "dual boot" screen come up after bios, all depends on what OS you've got and how boot is setup in bios, but it will not cause any harm to your PC

You need to use the media creation tool to create a new install media because the DVD that you have contains an older version of Windows 10. That installation would require an immeadiate upgrade to the newer version, so you might as well just install the newest version.
