Can someone please help, I have a windows problem

What do I do if when I try to open something I just downloaded, but then it says "it has stopped working" and it just closes the program?

try running system file checker and see if it helps
right click start button
choose command prompt (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter

another choice is try a clean boot and see if it works then - it might be a conflict with something else stopping it.


what program is it?
you could try downloading it again.
