Potential monitor damage?

Hello!

I recently bought a 144Hz monitor and it came with a display port cable. I was using it just fine, but I recently accidentally bent the cable. Sometimes it disconnected, and reconnected after I moved it around a bit. I finally received my new cable and it works fine. It may sound very stupid, but could this bent cable perhaps have damaged my monitor, because I got a message pop up on widows saying that "The 144Hz refresh rate could not be applied"? I just changed it back to 144Hz and I never got the message again. I got it only 2 weeks ago so I'm a little paranoid. I know that in theory if I put back the 144Hz refresh rate just fine, then the monitor's fine, but I guess I still want to be reassured ^^

Thanks

You will be fine! Cables can be finicky, but it would be difficult for them to short out monitor. It would have to be a terribly wired cable in order for it to happen.
