How to connect a hdmi graphics card to a vga monitor?

So can I use a hdmi to vga active adapter to convert a hdmi port graphics card to vga monitor?

The active converters should work without problem, but there is a chance they could reduce image quality or introduce a small amount of display lag.
A direct HDMI to VGA will not work as HDMI is digital and VGA is analog. They are two very different technologies and are not directly compatible.

The GPU link does not work but it appears its a GTX1050.
With this in mind, why do you not have a more up-to-date monitor, if you have a new graphics card?
Personally I would see if I could get a more modern one with HDMI or DVI inputs, but if it works I guess you can keep using it.

Overall, I say look at the reviews and choose the better active adaptor.

find a card like a NVidia 900 series that has dvi-I and supports analog signal native off the cards ans work with your vga monitor with the free dvi-I to d-sub/vga adaptor that comes in the box woth the card ? [except gigabyte there too cheap to supply one in theres ? ]

sad part is a gtx 960 today cost as much as my 980ti did when I bought it ?

these latest cards like you got [1060] you now got to support it cause it no longer supports you . so now your down to a active converter adaptor or a new monitor on top of the cards cost

you find them adaptors don't do as well as you thought and then you buy a new monitor that ends up being one expansive gpu in the end all said and done that did not do 1/2 as much as the older series did and would of been just plug and play no goofing around +$$$$$

thing is they [manufacture / NVidia ] don't point that out that these new cards do not support analog off the cards native but in some reviews they do

lot of guys get duped and got to go buy more stuff to support there new cards like said older cards did support your monitor out of the box

I use vga crt monitors as well and why I got a 900 series for that and it supports ALL my needs at one price to pay un like a 10 series that only can support me 1/2 butt hardware and software wise
