Second monitor not showing in nvidia settings and not showing in screen resolution

I have two monitors that were working fine until i reformatted my pc. the second monitor comes on when the computer is starting up and shows bios and windows 7 loading screen then it turns off and the first monitor comes on and stays on. when i go to nvidia settings it only detects one screen and my tv. when i go to display settings and look there it also shows my first monitor and my tv. they are both plugged into different graphics cards (geforce GTX 760) everything was working fine until i reformatted my pc. ive all the drivers and windows updates up to date. am i doing something wrong? have i missed something? they are connected via DVI.

got it resolved. just unplugged it and tried over and over and it eventually worked.
