@CompuTronix
I need your advice, please.
This weekend I ran prime95 26.6 small FFT's for 20 minutes with my i7 6700k CPU. I was horrified by the results.~86C on the hottest core, ~78-79C average. The CPU was overclocked to 4.6 GHz @ 1.370v adaptive.
I immediately turned the PC off, removed the fans from the H100i v2, vacuumed to radiator, cleaned all the fans+dusted out the case completely. Ran prime95 again, no change.
I then proceeded to remove the pump from the CPU and noticed the TG Kryonaut was just flaking off!
I took the processor out, cleaned the pump with 91% rubbing alcohol. I had the Rocket Cool delid tool in my closet for a year now. I loaded the 6700k into it, tightened the screws, turned the wrench and popped off the IHS, cleaned everything with rubbing alcohol again. Took out the GELID EXTREME and spread some on the die and IHS. Didn't reseal, snapped the CPU back into the ASUS safety thingy, re-tightened the cooler and fired up the PC.
The temps went down to 64C on the hottest core, 57-59C average.

Now I'm at 4.7GHZ @ 1.419v, , LLC 5, 66C on the hottest core, 57-59C average , idle 32C, gaming @ 43-57C depending on the load. Is it safe to leave it like this for 24/7 usage? I won't be pegging my PC @ 100% loads all day. Just browsing, gaming and the occasion youtube/kodi streaming.

Thems temps are fine for that OC. I have a 6700K right now and that's cooler than mine@4.5. Though, I haven't delidded mine. I delidded my 4790K (my old PC) and that was super easy, now I'm thinking I should delid my 6700k... Oh well, food for thought, my temps are good.

I remember delidding my old 4790k. I used a neighbor's vice and it flew across his garage, lol. It didn't change the temps much though I used AS5. The PC is still running well for a friend that I sold it to for $400.
