Tried to wipe former laptop and do a clean install.... now stuck in a windows install loop - cant enter BIOS

I was planning on giving my old VAIO laptop to a friend. Its about 4 years old and came with Windows 8. Tried to do a complete wipe and fresh install of windows. was taking forever last night so I just left it to do it's thing and went to bed.

Came back this morning and the laptop was off.... powered it up and the VAIO screen came on and then 30 seconds later a message popped up that said the installation had failed and I would need to restart the installation.

Now, its stuck in a loop... I try to get into BIOS when it restarts but nothing I do works...

I do not have a recovery disc so I really don't know what to do at this point.

Any help?

Clean install format hard drive install windows 10, After done call Microsoft tell them what happened they will give you a code with free windows 10. It happens they will be very helpful

You can download windows 10 anywhere make sure its same version of windows 8 you had so they wont give u any problems

Pull the battery and power cord so the laptop goes completely dead...after a min or so plug everything back in, power it on, and quickly hit whatever key you need to access the BIOS.
