If you have a amd gpu, or planning on buying one, go with the acer otherwise the ASUS is probably the better monitor

What kind of graphics card do you have? There is no point in buying a FreeSync monitor if you have an Nvidia card or a G--Sync monitor if you have an AMD card.

Color is not 'amazing', you're not going to get amazing color with a TN high refresh rate monitor, you'd be looking at 60Hz for that.
If you have any card it functions like a normal monitor, the freesync is just a bonus, you don't need to use it at all, doesn't affect anything.
