What happened with the XCOM 2 giveaway?

The XCOM 2 giveaway has finished some time now, the thread has been closed by _johny5 but he didn't announce any winners. Why is that? What has happened and why didn't anybody care to let the participants know?

Moving this over to Forum Feedback and hopefully _Johnny5 will respond promptly.

As for me, my guess is there was no statement saying the winners will be announced. Only that they would receive the game via their Steam accounts. I'm assuming that since you did not get a notification from Steam, you were not a winner.

Again, only a guess.

well if you look at all the giveaways at the end there is always an announcement with the 2 winners which makes sense
and helps things with transparency a little bit more than with no announcement at all.
