Server-wide VPN? Or stick to Router?

Hello,

I have a question involving servers, routers, and VPNs. I am building a personal server to host multiple VMs for different reasons. If I wanted to apply a VPN to the entire machine, would my best option be to put the VPN on my edge router, or is there a possibility of putting the VPN on the machine itself, that would cover all VMs simultaneously?

You'll probably want to make your own dedicated server just for the VPN and have your personal server be separated from that. That's what I did to protect the data for my person server. It costs a little bit more, but the extra sense of security is worth every penny.
