HP 550 Graphic Problems After Changing CPU

I found an old CPU Intel® Pentium® Processor T4500 (1M Cache, 2.30 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) and decided to put it in my old HP 550 laptop which had Intel's single core CPU (cant remember the model).

After the upgrade I started the laptop and it worked fine. However, sometimes when I power it up and always when I wake it up from sleep mode I get some bad graphic (the uploaded pictures).

I installed new Windows 10 and same problem (drivers were good and everything, as I saw) and I also tried a fresh install of Windows 7, same problem. Except, when it happens in Windows 7 the Blue Screen of Death appears and it restarts, but it Windows 10 it wouldn't restart or do anything until I do it manually.

Another strange thing is, when it powers up normally and loads Windows normally it will stay in that state and works perfectly, until I put it in sleep mode and then wake it up from it.

is that pull out used CPu supported hp proprietary bios's / on a supported cpu upgrade list ? or you just stick it in on the hopes it will ?

''I installed new Windows 10 and same problem '' man your a glutton for punishment it seems . may best put it back the way it was when working [opinion]

''HP PCs manufactured before August of 2013 might not have a complete set of hardware and/or drivers required to use all of the features in Windows 10.''

"or you just stick it in on the hopes it will" thats the case :D
I did try to find the supported CPUs list but didn't have luck (but to be honest, I probably didnt want to find it :) ), thanks for doing it.
I dont use Windows 10 on this laptop, it was just a test.
Now that we know that its not supported, how comes it works at all? (Im a newbie btw :D )

Thanks for clearing things up :)

guess it don't hurt to try ?? two things it works as you expect or it don't ,, using supported stuff tends to work out the best ,

thing is works fine till you use sleep mode ?? stop using it turn it on and use it and turn it off when not .. with the unsupported CPU maybe due to the bios microcodes used pre cpu supported and that maybe part of it and when coming out od sleep its not kicking back in full power state of the cpu ??

maybe a setting in the bios that you can disable sleep

thing is if we knew that CPU was supported then you could look at something else at issue and still may well be ??

how well does it work with the original CPU that came in it from HP ?? if it does the same then you could still look at if something else failed or failing ?

HP got some articles on that to look over . may help and try

The laptop worked without problems while the old CPU was in it. Because I use the sleep mode often, even tho the speed increase is noticeably, guess I will put back the old CPU.

Thanks again for the help.
