I have a i7-920, 750ti, and 6gb of ddr 3 ram. When ever l play gta and get in a car, the game freezes. Sometimes for as long as 20 seconds. I play at normal to high setting but even if l lower everything down I get the same problem. Also, it disconnects sometimes when it freezes for a while.

I know exactly what your problem is. I have similar issues on 4GB RAM. Don't worry, its not the game, and for you, it can be fixed.
1. Clear all background apps. Before opening the game, open task manager and close everything thats not a system process. Don't close Windows explorer though.
2. Note how much % of RAM is being used when all apps are cleared and reply to this message with the %.
3. Tell me your OS and Hard Drive RPM. If its a SSD, nevermind.
4. Make sure that your GTA V version is updated with latest patches.
5. DON'T USE MODS, TRAINERS, ETC. They will only take up more memory.

To open task manager, Ctrl+Alt+Delete and select task manager option.

Under performance tab, you'll find memory usage currently. Under processes tab, you'll find the running applications. Close ones that are apps which take up RAM

Don't clear system processes. You should be aware what applications are there in your computer. Normally, it will be applicationname.exe. End only those. Do not end system processes. You aren't supposed to use more than 1.5 GB of RAM on Vista when all unnecessary apps are closed
