I used miscrosoft's windows media tool https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 to perform the download and it seems Windows 10 installs perfectly

Until I try to do anything with the new OS

Games that ran perfectly fine on windows 7 now all of a sudden crash when it hit the escape key on windows 10 (geometry dash, shadow tactics blade of the shogun) were some of the games that crashed
- i tested this repeatedly and they crash everytime, im sure more games would do the same i only tested two games so far

rise of the tomb raider ran perfectly fine on windows 7 now has weird artifacts and graphical errors on windows 10

programs are constantly crashing and not responding like steam, skype, geforce experience

when i press the window key it takes like 5 seconds for the start menu to respond and then i can only type 1 letter in the search before it feezes, sometimes i cant even type at all

I know these things may mean a driver issue but i have updated everything i could

my only solution is to downgrade back to windows 7 but I wanna know why my computer just cant handle windows 10 at all, 90% of my programs are just crashing all over the place and its incredibly unresponsive

Solution
try a different usb port

or a different flash drive

and as said check all usb drivers/chipset drivers are up to date/installed

or as said you can use a dvd instead of a flash drive

assuming you have a dvd writer

i havent used a dvd in years but still got an external dvd/rw here just in case of emergency

You may need to download ASmedia USB drivers from ASUS https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/ and install them. Also if you haven't update you USB 3.1 firmware you may want to do that also.

Hello, it's good to see mcnumty23 posting again! Listen, for reasons I can't explain (I am not a coder) I have experienced some issues installing the 'ol 10 from USB on a number of units. My solution? download the latest version of windows 10 and burn it to a DVD and install. I know, does not seem like it would make any difference, but the success speaks for itself.
