PC boots up monitor loses connection after a while.

I turn the pc on everything boots up fine when the computer warms up I lose monitor connection.

I run a
4790k CPU
Crossfire R9 280 gigabyte wind force
B85M-D3H motherboard
850w PSU


It's only just started happening I recently added a second monitor but it was working fine for the last 2 weeks now it's started playing up.

Is it working fine with a single monitor?have you tried another monitor?Have you tried on board graphics?

CPU chipset works fine monitor on GPU shows no HDMI connection even if i swap with the other HDMI cable, seems to work fine but after a period of use it stops working.

Have already considered upgrading GPU as the 280s have been used for a few years now CPU is new "6 months'

if it works fine with on board gpu and your problem starts when you connect it to your gpu, then most propably is the gpu,with a little possibility being the psu.

I disconnected my crossfire and ran each gpu through the PCI slot one worked fine the other kept reading 0 degrees and a fan speed of 3500rpm.

I bought a RX 480 this afternoon to fix the problem.
