I have a LG 16M38A monitor with a VGA port. I recently bought a rig with a MSI H110 PRO-D motherboard in it. I didn't notice that it only had DVI-D port. I tried using a DVI-D male to VGA female adaptor, but it still shows no signal.

Are these two possible to connect to each other? Thanks for the answers.

Solution
The VGA port requires an analog signal. The DVI-D port does not provide one.
There are active adapters that can make the connection, but I can't recommend any specific one. An active adapter requires power and "actively" change the signal. There will be a noticeable loss of quality as opposed to having a proper digital monitor attached to the system.
