Does the 780 ti look better in games than rx 480? Or am i just crazy for thinking that?

Long story short. I had a 3770k 780 ti build w/ a the Korean Qnix 2710 1440p monitor a year ago until i sold the entire setup due to bills. fast forward a year and i built a new pc. 6600k rx 480 8gb with a BenQ gw2765ht 1440p

Here's where it gets interesting. I'm not sure if I'm just used to 1440p but I feel like games looked better on my old setup with a monitor that isn't as good as the 1440p benq that I'm currently using. Am I crazy or does it actually matter that most games these days actually look better on Nvidia because a few settings are actually meant for nvidia. Even though amd has implemted or adopted nvidias technology so that amd cards can use such a setting such as HBAO+ If you catch my drift.

Just throwing this out there for an example: 780ti vs the rx 480. 780 ti being higher

Higher texture rate 210 GTexel/s vs 182.3 GTexel/s More than 15% higher texture rate
Higher pixel rate 52.5 GPixel/s vs 40.5 GPixel/s Around 30% higher pixel rate
More render output processors 48 vs 32 16 more render output processors
More shading units 2,880 vs 2,304 576 more shading units
Better cloud gate factor score 21.88 vs 20.44 More than 5% better cloud gate factor score

^ Would this actually be a huge contributing factor? ^

well maybe a little has to do with the monitor but the comparisons between the cards are pretty even, though 780ti seems to be better at rendering graphically than the 480 does, so seems on paper your visual perception could be very true.

I think you're right. I just got this monitor today. My girlfriend was playing a game on my old asus vs239 23" 1080p for the past few days. I bet she'll just say that the only difference is that the picture is just bigger. Not noticing the increase in resolution and barley noticing the difference in color accuracy. since both are ips. I'll ask her when she does the switch.

when I made the swich from the same asus vs239 23" ips to the Korean Qnix 1440p with the 780 ti, it was night and day difference. Even though the colors looked better on the asus monitor than the pls panel on the Qnix 1440p
