Windows.old still in use but how

Hello friends. I want to ask you as i mentioned, i have done windows reset and after the process i wanted ti delete windows.old yet at first time i tryed i had an error which was sys.exe or something is still in use i cannot delete windows.old so i searched for it and turned out that exe is located in new windows file not in the old one yet still. Besides it didnt let me delete the file it also caused problems with taskbar and windows explorer and many more things and i had to reset the windows once more. Now i have 2 windows.old files that i dont have the courage to touch.

Just delete them and be done with it.

I believe i have been misunderstood. I tryed disk clean up as admin, full control method and basicly shift delete but every time ive got the error tahat an exe which is not even located in windows.old still in use.

How big is the drive? If the windows.old file does not bother you then just leave it there. It will disappear on its own in about 30 days.
