Hello. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

I bought a new SSD, 240GB large. I'm planning to dual-boot Linux and Windows on it, with Linux being used only for development. On my previous HDD, I had 140GB of space used from Windows OS and all files on Windows partition. Linux will be used only for programming, I will have nothing but OS itself, IDEs and other neccessary stuff on that partition. All multimedia will be stored on either external HDD or cloud storage. Also, I will not use hibernate. How should I split my Linux and Windows partitions in order for it to be enough for Linux, yet not using much more space than neccessary? I was thinking of saving about 30-40 GB for Linux. Thank you.

40GB Should definitely be enough space.

"In computing, memory refers to the computer hardware devices used to store information for immediate use in a computer;"

You want to reserve 40GB of STORAGE for Linux.

Memory is RAM.
