I clicked cancel, when the shutdown anyway option came

Plzzz help me ,
When I was shuting down my laptop last night ... Option of 'shutdown anyway' and 'cancle' popped .. and accidentally I clicked 'cancle' and now the laptop is not shutting down and none of the apps are working on the desktop !!!..... What should I do ?????
