I apologize if I'm in the wrong section/forum , but I'm not really sure what other forum to trust. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So recently I've had some trouble with my 91 blazer's stereo recently. I've had a decent Kenwood head unit (KDC-258U)with originally the stock Delco 4x6s in the dash and Kenwood KFC-6965S 6x9s in the back all with the original wiring.

For about two years they've worked perfectly fine at all volumes. But, recently at higher volumes (anything above 28, the max is 35) the audio started to sound like it was buffering and was really gravely.

My initial thought was that the 4x6s in the front were blown so I replaced them with Polk DB461Ps to see if that made a difference. The problem still continued. I then thought the problem was my unit. So I replaced the unit (a kdc-568u) and for a good 5 days the problem was gone. Yesterday the problem came back.

Would this problem be a wiring issue or is the head unit damaged/ not supplying enough power to the speakers?

I'm truly at a loss as I am not a big car stereo guru.

Again any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys!
