Yes built a gaming rig with dual 6378 cpu. Awesome, used a supermicro board and installed the OCNG5 bios tool to overclock, running 6378 cpu,s at 3.3, kicks ass

CPU-Z bench results for Dual 6378. 946 for single core
compare i7 6950X 1864 for single core,its hyper threading to 2 threads

multi core result for 6378 22633
i7 6950X 15907
benched 20 cores of Dual 6378 setup 15430
Both cpu,s run Quad Chanel memory
I play battlefield 4 and cpu,s stay at idle temp even though they are clocked to 3.3 ,never work hard, battlefield 4 never gets them out of idle. The opteron 6378 has all the latest instruction sets, even a couple that are not in use yet. I believe DX 11 games can use up to 6 cores in Win 10. When DX12 comes out it will use more. So still have plenty of cores left over for other functions.
OK my board dose not have on board sound or USB 3 but that is solved by add on cards.

Some body wanted to here from a person who had built a dual Opteron system so I posted my comments. I built the system for entertainment because I enjoy putting hardware together and it wasn't a big expense, Its now my main PC and I have put aside my system running an FX8350, Also built a system with Dual X5670 cpu,s. Prefer the Opteron 6378 system. Building an i7 system is expensive and boring. Purchased 2 6378 cpu,s for $180 US. Quad chanel ram and board also reasonable priced. All parts secondhand ex server parts and are proving to be reliable

I don't really feel the need to overclock my 6378s, as it is faster than my older system. Blu Ray movies play in PowerDVD with all enhancements turned on. So I know it is faster than my old system. :D
