CPU Upgrade question ... 5960x -> 6950x

hello guys i want to ask you if it's worth to upgrade my cpu to 6950x from 5960x.
i have an alienware area 51 r2 , 32 gb ram , 2133 , titan x pascal sli...
should i upgrade or not... would i gain antything from the upgrade?

depends on what you are doing.
if it's gaming - 0 benefit.
if it some heavily multithreaded production load - 2 additional cores = 25% increase.
if it's worth the money and hassle - up to you.
IMHO 1000$ CPU for home use desktop is pointless waste in the first place.

The benefits are mostly 2 more cores and a newer process with lower part load power use. If you figure that's worth the upgrade go for it. IPC wise you won't gain more than a couple of percent. (FWIW, I'm looking at doing a major upgrade with a 6800K as the CPU; for the same price I might well take a 5960X if it was available.)

If you already have a 5960X than no it's not worth $1500 for 2 extra cores. In fact you can build a whole new computer for $1500 and be within 1-3fps for games of the old computer.
