Rx 480 at 1080p 144hz without freesync

I am planning on getting an rx 480 and 1080p. I want to get 144hz. Would an rx 480 at 1080p 144hz be fine without freesync or would there be a lot of screen tearing?

Well, depends the game. But RX 480 cannot reach 144FPS in high-ultra in all games.

So would a 144hz be fine or should I get something like 75hz and freesync

If you already had the RX 480, i would pick the 75hz + Freesync monitor. You will not enjoy the full experience of the 144hz monitor in all games.

That is my point of view of course. I'm an owner of a RX 480 ROG STRIX with a 60hz monitor, and i play mostly BF1, and i get 80fps. So 75hz is a good step from 60hz.
