After changing my GPU from the "ASUS R9 270X"
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-R9270X-DC2T-2GD5-Graphics-C...

To the "EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC"
https://www.bol.com/nl/p/evga-08g-p4-6173-kr-geforce-gt...

My monitor was cut in half and I could only see the right part of the screen.
After changing the resolution to 1600x1200 I could see the whole screen.

I have this monitor
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Iiyama-ProLite-E2607WSV-1-Moni...

And I'm using this adapter for the display to work
https://www.bol.com/nl/p/display-port-naar-vga-adapter-...

After going to the monitor's menu and going into the "Information" tab it was saying that it is a 1600x1200 monitor which is not true.

The icons look bigger which I don't like

So why is this happening and how can I fix this?

Solution

Go in to nvidia control panel and try setting custom resolutions or changing the screen size by going to the addjust desktop size and position tab.

Please read everything I say before answering
After changing the resolution to 1600x1200 I could see the whole screen.
My question is: How can I change my screen resolution so that it doesn't act like a 1600x1200
If I set it to 1920x1200 it's cut in half, when I set it to 1600x1200 I see everything but the icons are bigger.
