I'm epileptic, someone told me that a TN panel monitor is bad for epileptics

is this true. ii'm getting a new monitor and i was aiming to get this nice 144hz tn monitor but people have said thats bad.

anyone heard of this or not?

I'm no doctor, but generally speaking, I think most monitors these days are pretty safe and I haven't heard of any instances I can recall in recent years where anyone's had a seizure looking at a modern display.

I think issues mostly resulted from older displays that either struggled to produce a certain refresh rate, or produced weird refresh rates that triggered seizures. But from what I've been able to see, and what I've heard, I don't think a modern TN panel should be a problem for you. But to be safe, consult your doctor :)

I imagine some filtered optics might keep the light levels down. I believe Gunnar makes some specifically for monitor viewing, technically to prevent eye strain, but anything that could potentially limit the effects strobing should help.

Probably just avoid games with a lot of bright/dark transitions like horror titles.
