GTX 1070 - Which 24" monitor would be best?

I'm looking for a DECENT budget monitor with smooth gameplay and higher fps in ultra mode for Battlefield 1.

With positive influences, I finally convinced myself to go for the GTX 1070 gpu card.

I have checked many and came up with the following affordable 2 monitors which appear to tick all the right boxes:

Asus VG248QE 24.0" 1920x1080, 144Hz, 1ms TN - £239 (NO G-SYNC)
AOC G2460PG 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz, 1ms TN - £357 (WITH G-SYNC)

1. Supported by a 1070 GPU, would these be considered as worthy choices?
2. With my setup (partpicker list below) would I benefit from G-Sync, in other words, is it worth forking out £120 more?
3. Any alternative recommendations?

Buy the non gsync one. At 144hz, you don't need gsync. Not much of a difference between vsync and gsync at those frame rates. Save the money.

Sorry can you expand on V-sync?

I keep hearing v-sync, g-sync and freesync...though I did work out freesync is for AMD

I am assuming you are suggesting V-sync is already available with the chosen display or GPU or something?

V-sync is available in every game's display option. It detects the refresh rate of your monitor and locks the FPS according to that to eliminate screen tearing.

Thank Harsh!

Just one last thing to secure the confidence at 100%

I've checked a number of reviews and searched online for a decent monitor. Would you consider the Asus VG248QE 24.0" 1920x1080, 144Hz, 1ms TN - £239 (NO G-SYNC) as a worthy contender or would you recommend another? I could stretch the budget a little, if necessary.

I just want to suggest that if you have gtx 1070 and can extend your budget more then try getting one of the ultrawide 1440p monitors. They are immersive, have great field of view and the resolution will speak for itself. GTX 1070 is a great 1440p card. So, if you can then try to get one.

unfortunately with limited space on the home work desk I can just about squeeze in a 24" screen, that too in 16:9 AR.

I've been looking online for a 1440p too and I think I found a brilliant price point of around £400 with G-sync + 1440p whereas others are comparatively more expensive:

Dell S2417DG
https://www.alza.co.uk/24-dell-s2417dg-d4522047.htm
Panel type: TN
Native resolution: 2560 x 1440
Brightness: 350 cd/m²
Colour support: 16.7 million (8-bits)
Response time: 1ms
Refresh rate: 144hz (165Hz OC'd)
Feature: G-SYNC

Not sure but the only common negative I found was the brightness levels which are also shown in the link below:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/dell-s2417dg-24-inch-165hz-g-sync-gaming-monitor,review-33702-3.html

So I already have the 1080p option and now want to finalize on the 1440p option. What do you think of this choice or would you recommend another in the £400 mark. Once i have both options set, i will pick one when purchasing the new build PC.

I would suggest getting an IPS panel with 1440p resolution. TN panels are not that good.

I wanted IPS from the start but these are expensive and it's a shame there are no 1440p, 144hz 24" IPS models available.

On friday I applied for a loan with my local bank and Zopa. If all successful, my current budget would be greatly increased. Which would mean bigger and better parts and one of those ASUS STRIX 27" IPS G-SYNC monitors (700 quid or something). Zopa's interest rates are most attractive, beats finance plans offered by retailers hence im hopeful!

Thanks bro! With much advice taken onboard...I'm now going for the 1080ti SC aftermarket card from EVGA.

My current choice of display is the Acer XF270HU 27.0" 2560x1440 144Hz Monitor (IPS). Since I am purchasing a pretty solid GPU I thought i'd leave G-sync out. Looking at the 1080ti benchmarkss, for the games I will be playing I will be able to manage betweeen 75-100 fps in ultra settings. Considering this would I benefit from G-Sync? As I understand G-sync is best known for smoothing out gameplay visuals for lower performing FPS what i am not sure about is whether it helps generally in overall gameplay regardless of fps counts. Another concern is future-proofing, is it worth spending an additional 150 quid for G-sync if i plan on sticking with my current choice of card for several years to come?

Yes go for the g-sync monitor with that card.
