Monitor Gets No Signal From Gpu

I just built a new rig. It has a h110m-e mobo a Intel Core i5 6600 k CPU and as of right now I'm using a GTX 465 because my 1060 is coming in the mail. my PC boots up fine once I use the VGA port on my motherboard using on-board graphics I can go on my PC. I also can boot up bios. But what I would like to do is use my graphics card. Every time I put the DVI cable into the graphics card my monitor says no signal. I have went into BIOS multiple times and changed the graphics option from Auto to pcie even when I restart the computer it still comes back to auto. I've read many threads about this and none of them have seen to help me yet. So the overall question is how can I get my graphics card to display on my monitor so I can play simplistic games until my real graphics card gets here.
