Windows 10 USB bought from Microsoft format/write protection

I bought a windows 10 usb from microsoft and installed it and it works fine. I'm in need of an usb to put documents onto so i tried formating/removing the write protection of the win 10 usb through simple ways (right click and choosing format) and more complicated ways (DISKPART, regedit and third party programs) and couldn't get past the "Write Protected" popup. HELP PLZ

Did you check if the USB itself has a physical switch? Its possible the USB write protected on purpose to protect the contents. USB may not have the switch but be write protected from factory

USB are fairly cheap, just get another one? I have lots but most aren't very big, only 2 are over 8gb in size.
