GTX 770's in SLI heating up the room

Good morning! I'm currently running a pair of GTX 770's in SLI in my all purpose desktop which I use for 50/50 work and gaming. No complaints on performance as I'm not doing anything in 4k, but the heat these suckers are kicking off while gaming is killing me. In my small office there's a notable increase in temperature to the point I'm having to crank on the air conditioning to stay comfortable. Can you fine folks please recommend a single GPU with equivalent or greater power that is not going to toast me?

I'm open to other upgrades while I'm in there if anything stands out, and while I'd love to keep the new GPU under $250 US, I'm willing to go as high as 400ish if it's a night and day better product that runs a lot cooler. My gaming use isn't anything all that hardcore, I play a lot of Overwatch and tend to pick up 1-2 year old games off STEAM when they're on sale.

My current setup is as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

RAM: 2x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

GPU: 2x GIGABYTE GV-N770OC-2GD G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0

Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77

Other than that I just have a smallish SSD and single 7.2rpm storage drive, and a fairly beefy modular power supply.

Thanks!

According to TechyInAZ's post (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-3192807/ultimate-bottlenecking-guide.html) regarding the newest graphics cards being bottlenecked by CPUs, your CPU is a fair match with the GTX 1060 priced around 250 dollars, also that is probably the highest performance you can get out of 250 dollars. The card is really not that power hungry, considering those 2 "old" power-hungry cards, and can run any AAA title at 1080p on high-ultra with no problem.

Without knowing the resolution and refresh rate of your monitor, we have no idea what the best setup would be for you. All we know is you aren't using 4K.

Anyway, the GTX 1060, 1070 and 1080 more power efficient than your current setup. Without knowing more, I can't say more.

1060 6gb would give you similar performance to your SLI 770s, while consuming a LOT less power, and creating a LOT less heat (only 120w vs the 400w for your dual 770s).

Or the 1070 would give you a significant performance upgrade while still consuming less power and less heat.

Ahh I should have included that, forgot to include those specs... I've got a pair of BenQ XL2420Z's which are 24" 144hz @ 1080p monitors. I'm only gaming on the primary monitor. Thanks for the advice!

If you want an improvement, and lower heat, while taking advantage of that 144hz, I'd look at the GTX 1070. The prices just came down recently, and well under the budget limit. The GTX 1060 would be best on 60hz.
