Windows 10 won't load with USB 3.0 card installed

Windows 10 (x64) won't load to the login screen with a PCIe USB 3.0 expansion card installed. It either hangs at the blue Windows logo screen or shuts down with a "PC error" message. I get the same results with two different (new) USB 3.0 cards in either of the two available PCIe x16 slots (ASUS M4A79 mb). I doubt both brand new cards are defective.)

Have you checked you have latest BIOS for motherboard? cards could be newer than the BIOS version and it doesn't know what to do with them.
