I got this PC some time ago and it could have some optimized/low end games at high between 60-120 fps. I started to play Warframe which has the minimum system requirements of

Warframe Minimum System Requirements:
OS: Windows XP SP 3 or higher
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo e6400 or AMD Athlon x64 4000+ (~2.2Ghz dual core CPU)
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT or ATI Radeon HD 3600
DirectX: 9.0c
Hard Drive: 5 GB free HD space

It's a little demanding on the system when there's a lot of things going on. I usually have 14-30 fps on medium/high and 30-40 in low. But in other places when nothing is going on a lot it sits at 60 fps steady, All i really want is to play the game really smooth.

Should i just get a new PC ? or upgrade this one ?

Here's my Specs

Operating System
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66GHz
Conroe 65nm Technology
RAM
4.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz (5-5-5-16)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. EP35C-DS3R (Socket 775)
Graphics
DELL 1907FP (1280x1024@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series (Gigabyte)
Storage
298GB Western Digital WDC WD3200AAKS-00B3A0 ATA Device (SATA)

Can anyone point me in the right direction ? if it's possible to upgrade this system to get better performance in gaming ?

Thank you ~

1) No point in spending too much on the CPU if it's outdated. At some point you need to bite the bullet and build a new PC.

2) The graphics card will make a big difference, however it's difficult to guess where the CPU bottleneck will kick in as it varies by the game. Sometimes a game may be CPU bottlenecked in one part and GPU bottlenecked in another part.

3) The graphics card is where I'd start though, especially since you can move it later to another PC. Your HD57xx is ancient. Not sure of your BUDGET though I'd suggest something like the GTX1050Ti.

4) to install a new graphics card you should:
a) run DDU to remove drivers: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
b) shut down
c) swap in new card (may be a plastic LATCH you can damage that's on the motherboard that locks the card in place.. watch that when removing old card)
d) start up
e) download and install latest NVidia drivers

GTX 1050 ti looks awesome, although it's 230$ here's in Australia, that's probably going to be my goal.
but do you guys know whether the card I linked above the Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 460 4GB perform well ?
Cheers

the rx 480 does perform very well.. but for the extra $100-130 will it be a good match with your cpu? having never used your cpu i can't say and i hate going off of benchmarks.. i would much rather have someones real world experience .
