So I decided to resinstall Windows 10 because my pc was becoming slow from a virus and my scanners couldn't find it. That's all well and good now, however, I still have most of my hard drive taken up. About the same amount I had before, which most of it was steam games. Are all of my game files just hidden somewhere and I can't find them? What's going on? I won't be able to install all the games I had installed before. I only have 270 gigs left of 1.79 terabytes.

Solution

Look for a folder called "Windows.old"

You can't delete it from there, but it probably is taking up significant space.
You have to go through Disk Cleanup to remove it.

I did the install that kept my personal files. So I guess I installed over my old copy?

Danke USAFRet, I'm not going to copy any of the stuff to my hard drive in fear of my virus coming back. I should have a crap ton more space after it finishes scanning and I can delete it.
