Yes, it is the official release.
The only difference is that you have to go look for it instead of waiting until next week when it comes to you automatically.
3 of 5 of my main systems have been upgraded since last night. Incl this system I'm using right now.
#4 is currently underway. #5 will happen tomorrow.

What happened when you tried doing just the Update?

Try it.Altho I prefer to do clean installs. It gets rid of the junk

It can happen, if you copy the windows.old files into the current windows folder files which will confuse CCleaner program to delete "system files" causing a usntable system.
Nevertheless, it been working fine as i run it every time i turn on computer.
Windows 10 Education 64-Bit Build 1607 with 7th Generation CPU working normally.

i realise this doesn't help you but as you already rewarded Paul the Best Post I thought I add extra info for anyone looking at this thread with questions about how they can get it. Especially as you didn't mention the EDU version in topic

Sorry if I confused you. I will go away now.

I've just installed the Creator's Update. After a reboot, CCleaner told me it could save 25GB space, so I ran it and also cleaned the registry. Mistake. Windows wouldn't boot. Now I'm having to restore through Macrium Reflect.

Recommend avoiding running CCleaner after installing Creator's Update, until you've created recovery media, or imaged the C: drive with e.g. Macrium.
