Windows won't boot into log in screen after start up

My friend just build his pc and it was working fine up until now when he boot his pc he gets past win 10 logo and the loading screen but after it gives him a black screen and won't go into login screen on boot before loading screen the only options he has is f11 under msi logo

His build is
intel i5-7500
Msi b250 pc mate
16 gb of ddr4
He is using on board video and hasn't activated windows but was working fine the past week up until now

See if start up repair helps

change boot order so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up repair - this will scan PC and maybe fix this - will ask for logon info
