Hi,

I finally bought a TV that supports the HDMI2.0 and wanted to try 4K@60Hz connection with my laptop, but I can't get over 4K@30Hz.

TV: Philips 49PUS7101 https://www.avforums.com/review/philips-7101-49pus7101-uhd-4k-hdr-tv-review.12950
Notebook: Acer Predator 17 G9-791 https://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Predator-17-G9-791-Notebook-Review.158933.0.html
Cable: Reference RAV 150-015 I couldn't find link with English specifications, but it should be capable of 4K@60Hz https://vga-dvi-hdmi.heureka.cz/reference-rav-150-015/specifikace/#section

I apologize for my English, I'm not a native speaker. Also, the screenshots are in different language, but I believe that all important information is obvious.

The 970M graphics card has HDMI2.0 support. The TV has HDMI2.0 support too (in HDMI outputs 1 and 2, I'm using output 1). The cable shouldn't be a problem. After pluging the TV to Notebook it detected it without problem. I set the TV as the only used monitor and I wanted to increase the resolution to 4K using standart Win 10 display settings. Here was my first suprise.

The resolution settings are greyed out. OK, I will use the NVidia driver settings.

Also nothing useful here. It looks like the TV is connected to integrated Intel graphics card.
In the Intel driver settings I can set up resolution up to 3840x2160@30Hz.

Obviously the problem is in using the integrated graphics card as primary HDMI output. I couldn't find any way to change the output device to 970M. The Predator series has an option to 'always use dedicated graphic' throught Predator Sense software.

It didn't make any difference (I used it before connecting the HDMI cable). The BIOS doesn't contain any settings regarding graphic cards. The only think I didn't try is uninstalling the Intel graphic card drivers - I use the notebook in battery mode often, so it is unacceptable for me as long term solution. I might try it as an short-time experiment.

When I use the 3840x2160@30Hz settings and try to play a game with it, the 970M kicks in and the game uses its performance.

Do you guys have any idea how to force the notebook to use the dedicated GPU? It is even possible to use 4K@60Hz with this hardware? The TV doesn't have the display port, but would it be posible to get 4K@60Hz using DP1.2 in Notebook and then a converter (something like https://www.startech.com/AV/Displayport-Converters/dp-hdmi-2-adapter-4k~DP2HD4K60S) to make HDMI for TV?

Software:
Win 10 Pro 64-bit Build 14393.1066
NVidia graphics driver 381.65
Intel graphics driver 21.20.16.4534

Check your power settings in Win10, I'm guessing that the laptop might be running on either "balanced" or "power saver" setting, and you'll want it on "Full Power" if you want the dGPU to always be active.
